Temperature and vibration measurements have always been used to describe the state of machineries and the paradigms of I4.0 (wireless sensors, machine learning, big data and cloud-based analysis) increase the potential of condition-based maintenance systems. IoT architectures based on networks of low-cost sensors wirelessly connected to cloud systems are replacing the classic monitoring systems based on a a limited number of transducers with analog output, setting new challenges in the industrial metrology.

The seminar will focus on the measurement architectures and metrological aspects of modern IoT systems showcasing in field success collaboration with companies in the cross-border area.
