The growing adoption of digital technologies within industrial environments allows for an ever-greater transition of technical and business processes in the digital world, to provide advanced decision making support in reference to product, process and system design. The replication of the interconnected processes present in the company within the digital world, helps managers, designers and operators in their tasks, thanks to the use of intelligent software tools that can interact with each other through a coherent factory model that guides users to correct use of the functions of the entire system.
In this context, the creation of discrete event simulation models allows us to provide tools capable of: analyzing systems in a timely manner, making predictive assessments on the behavior of systems according to real operating conditions; understand the practical implications of each choice made and / or feasible regarding the management of a system, as a function of analytically assessable performance indicators.
The webinar, dedicated to CEOs, managers, and personnel assigned to the improvement of internal processes, presents how the development and adoption of process simulation tools is able not only to support a more efficient planning of production, but to allow a reading of the production system from which the company can benefit at 360 degrees.
Speaker: Dario Pietraroia – Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management and Master’s Degree in Engineering, Precision Manufacturing, is a researcher and software developer in SUPSI.
During his career at SUPSI he has contributed to the development of simulation models of production systems in various sectors, from the processing of steel carpentry to the production of shoes, and to the improvement of the simulation environment on which he operates. Expert in the formalization of production processes and their simulation through discrete event simulation, his experience also focuses on the design of tools and methods to optimize production scheduling and production line balancing. He deals with both research and consultancy activities for private companies.
