In recent years, additive manufacturing processes have been the subject of great interest, both in terms of research and with regard to possible industrial applications, arousing, in general, enthusiasm and curiosity for the effects that the application of these technologies it can have on production and on company organization. However, beyond today’s expectations, the adoption and implementation of additive technologies is limited by several factors, related in part to costs, in part to the properties of the manufactured products obtained and in part to the difficulty of placing them effectively in the production process. .

The aim of the seminar is to introduce the main additive manufacturing processes that can be used for metal materials, emphasizing their peculiarities and advantages, highlighting today’s technological and quality problems of products and outlining upcoming developments.

The critical discussion of some application examples will conclude the seminar and allow you to better frame the advantages and problems related to the adoption of these technologies.
